Perceptive Pixel is seeking a software supervisor to help lead a top notch software development team. The software supervisor splits time between software development tasks and project and team management tasks with the balance shifting from development to supervision as the team grows.
As an individual contributor, activities would include implementing designs and specifications in C++, assisting with ongoing refactoring, and prototyping exploratory designs or architectures. The software supervisor must have solid core C++ competency, a demonstrated ability to implement practical solutions and outstanding communication and teamwork skills. Candidates are expected to have a deep understanding of object-oriented software design and algorithms mixed with practical experience building software solutions. In the project management realm, the supervisor works closely with the Director of Software Development and software architects to collect effort estimates, assemble a plan, track deliverables and oversee the work of a team.
We develop complete solutions, including end-user applications, APIs to enable third party applications and hardware drivers. Our code combines judicious multi-threading with high-performance computer graphics to provide fluid, media-rich, multi-touch user experiences.
Locations: Mountain View, CA preferred. New York, NY and Wilsonville, OR are also options.
Requirements
- A BS in computer science, or a strong computer science foundation with equivalent experience
- Solid core C++ competency
- 10+ years of software engineering experience, 4 of those years in a leadership position
- Very strong organizational and communication skills
- Some experience with project management and agile development
- OpenGL (preferred) or other computer graphics experience is a plus
- A good sense of user interaction design or graphic design is a plus
- Networking experience is a plus
