Perceptive Pixel seeks a versatile senior electrical engineer to join our fast-paced and growing company who appreciates good design and enjoys pushing the technology envelope. We set the standard for product performance and have high expectations for our product design and quality. This position will design and bring into production next-generation hardware products and related equipment and accessories.

Location: Portland, Oregon

 

Responsibilities

  • Specify functionality, design and lay out board level electronics often including FPGAs. Work is primarily digital design, but could have some analog circuit design content.
  • Program FPGAs on the boards that were designed to achieve desired functionality
  • Develop documentation for electronics parts as required
  • Stay informed of and take advantage of latest electronics component and technology advances of relevance to company
  • Manage electronics suppliers during the product development phase
  • Collaborate effectively with colleague engineers and manufacturing operations people. Play a proactive role during the transition from product development to production.
  • Invent electronics-related product concepts and architectures relevant to Perceptive Pixel business

 Qualifications

  • M.S.E.E. or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience designing electronics that has shipped in end-user electronic products, with demonstrated high quality work product.
  • Strong technical knowledge of digital circuit design and designing with FPGA’s
  • Capable of generating board level schematics using schematic capture tools, ideally with ability to do board layout.
  • Experience with FPGA programming environments and developing Verilog or VHDL
  • Fluent in MS Office suite including Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook. Access experience considered a plus.
  • Ability to think & work independently and meet necessary deadlines with appropriate attention to detail.
  • Superior analytical problem solving and troubleshooting skills; creative thinking and ability to “think on your feet”
  • Effective, professional-level interaction and communications with management, employees, customers and colleagues
  • Ability to travel domestically and on occasion, internationally
