Perceptive Pixel is seeking a network software engineer to help develop robust collaboration software on the most advanced multi-touch and pen and touch platform in existence. We build complete solutions, including end-user applications, APIs to enable third party applications and hardware drivers. Our code combines judicious multi-threading with high-performance computer graphics to provide fluid, media-rich, multi-touch user experiences. Software Engineers must have solid core C++ competency, a demonstrated ability to implement practical solutions and to work well on a team. The network software engineer also must have experience developing networked applications or libraries, a solid understanding and programming experience with network protocols and functions such as nat punch-through, dns lookup, videoconferencing, encryption, QoS, IPv6 and xmpp.
Locations: Mountain View, CA preferred. New York, NY and Wilsonville, OR are also options.
- A BS in computer science, or a strong computer science foundation with equivalent experience
- Solid core C++ competency
- Solid understanding of networking fundamentals and networking protocols
- Clear communication skills and the ability to work smoothly on a team
- 4+ years of software engineering experience, 2 of those in network applications
- Development experience with web and cloud-based services
- Exposure to other languages, such as JAVA, C#, Python is a plus
- Experience with cloud services is a plus
