Perceptive Pixel is looking for a talented interaction designer. We build hardware and software, and combine novel HCI techniques and interaction design together in seamless solutions. We build software with simple, clean and intuitive interfaces and like to hire software developers with a strong graphics background and a good design sense. The interaction designer will work closely with this team to visualize typical workflows, and rapidly prototype user experiences and user interfaces. The designer establishes guidelines for interaction design, unifying and improving our interfaces and interaction patterns across products.
Locations: Mountain View, CA preferred. New York, NY and Wilsonville, OR are also options.
Requirements
- A bachelor’s degree in HCI, Interaction Design, Visual Design, or related field.
- 3-5 years experience as an Interaction Designer / User Experience Designer.
- A strong design aesthetic
- A strong portfolio of work that demonstrates simple, intuitive interaction and GUI design
- Fluency in the tools and techniques of rapid prototyping, such as wireframes, storyboards and prototypes in HTML, Flash, Photoshop or Illustrator
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Experience with dynamic, graphics-intensive desktop or game platform applications
- Programming experience, familiarity with C++ application toolkits and openGL a plus
