Build your own advanced multi-touch gesture and stylus-enabled applications

Using the Perceptive Pixel API, we can help you easily integrate true multi-touch and stylus functionality into existing applications or build native high-performance multi-touch applications from scratch. The Perceptive Pixel API offers a very powerful set of development tools that, when coupled with Perceptive Pixel's cutting-edge hardware, enables a professional, high-performance experience.

With our API, you can develop functionality within your application not currently available anywhere else, including: unlimited multi-touch; two-handed interaction with simultaneous stylus(es) and multi-touch; hover discrimination with stylus(es); and palm rejection, for the most natural pen and touch experience.

With these new breakthroughs in user interface design, Perceptive Pixel solutions make it faster and easier to improve your productivity by developing the most advanced multi-touch gesture and stylus-enabled applications.

Multi-touch with simultaneous stylus. Revolutionary change.

While commercially available APIs, such as Windows 7 Touch, allow for multi-touch and stylus programming, only Perceptive Pixel enables both to work together simultaneously. This ability to manipulate objects directly on-screen with your fingers in tandem with an active stylus replicates how we naturally work with pen and paper. The Perceptive Pixel API is able to distinguish between a finger, a stylus, or multiple styluses hovering over or making contact with the screen. The system even knows how to respond if you rest your palm or arm on the display. Differentiating between these actions is important for full-featured, high-precision applications.

Easy to use. Easy to incorporate.

Multi-touch gesture support within the user interface is the most natural way to interact with your application and unlock user productivity.

The Perceptive Pixel API includes a core set of standard gestures typically found in APIs such as Windows 7 Touch and Apple’s iOS.

Our APIs are available in:

  • C, C++, C# and Java
  • Windows XP, 7, Linux in both 32- and 64-bit architectures
